While signing up for my daughters to attend "Maker Faire Bay Area" in San Francisco later this month, I saw this inspirational TED video (compliments to Kevin who first drew my attention to this great guy in his earlier post). I have decided to post it, pulling out the very words that are typical to what one is going through in this eye-opening course, particularly since one is not of this jet age. I have found this vidoe motivating.
I'm gonna get wet, I'm gonna get wet.... No, I didn't get wet
For this class, we have gathered; we have formed; we have fashioned.
Let's refuse to be passengers ... let's be drivers ... Let's use this sense of pride that we have talents and passion for technology ... that we can still grasp (understand) things with my hands.
Even after this course - NURS 660 - is ended, let's continue playing, to discover what technology can do and what we can do with the many new and great tools out there that we can use. Let's continue to love what we are doing.
We will not wait for the next generation. We are a makers. We'll make our own worlds particularly with what roles technology has in our lives and in our nursing career today.
SURE, WE ARE ABLE TO DO IT!!!
